I had a wonderful time teaching at Jangja Elementary School, and being in South Korea. I absolutely love all of my students  and I feel very lucky to have taught all of them this year. Some of them are better at English than people I know in America, and others are challenged by learning English, but they all try very hard, and that’s what really matters. I hope that they keep trying their hardest and doing the best that they can, because I know, one day, all of them will be English masters!

South Korea is the home of my students bit it has also become my home over the last year. No meal that I eat is complete without kimchi and bop, I’ve made lots of very good Korean friends, I’m studying 한글, and, most importantly, I’ve learned that Korean children are the cutest children in the world!

Korean food has become my favorite thing to eat. All of my co-teachers tell me that it has made me more beautiful! I don’t know about that, but I do think it has made me a healthier person. I love kimchi so much, that I think I will try to make it myself in America! And I’m very nervous about not having delicious Korean food when I leave South Korea.

I have met so many amazing Korean people in my time here. From my co-teachers, who I like to think of as my older and smarter sisters, to my best friends in this country who help me study my Korean every Sunday, to kind and curious strangers who want to know about my life. I have fallen in love with South Korea and especially the people that live here!

Most important are my lovely students. I treasure every moment I spent with them, and I will always remember how special they all made this last year. I know that I am Coleen-Teacher, but my students were also my teachers.  They taught me many things about life, and I am very thankful to them.

Thank you Jangja Elementary for making an amazing country even better!

WARMEST regards!

Coleen-Teacher

Life without attachments to results These days, many students are overly concerned about results. For competitions, doing one''s best is more important than anything, but some students even ask what benefits they could get by winning. Google is the most popular site in the world, and p..
